Oughterard Wastewater Treatment Plant

Wastewater Project

This investment of €4.2 million has provided improvements to the wastewater infrastructure of Co. Galway.

This project involved the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant on a green field site adjacent to the original treatment facility. The original wastewater treatment plant was first constructed in the early 1970’s and currently caters for a population equivalent (PE) of 500. This project has increased the current treatment capacity of the plant and facilitates future growth in population and economic development in the area.
