Enniscorthy Water Network Improvement project

Irish Water Growth and Development Programme

Irish Water, in partnership with Wexford County Council, is improving the water network in Enniscorthy to support the economic and social development of the area.

Irish Water is working in partnership with Wexford County Council on a network improvement programme that will facilitate social and economic growth in the Enniscorthy area.

The works involve the construction of approximately 1650m of new modern water mains. Construction works on the new water mains will commence in early November 2021.

The section of works will take place between Edermine (Spring Hill) and Vinegar Hill. Works will be undertaken on Cluain Dara, Esmonde Road, through a brownfield site to Drumgoold Road where they will continue on the pedestrian path to Vinegar Hill.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Irish Water by Shareridge Limited and are expected to be completed by late December.

Networks Extension Programme

Irish Water’s Network Extension Programme is a dedicated programme of works for extending our water and wastewater networks to support strategic development areas that will bring about social and economic growth, including planned residential development, in areas with the greatest need.

  • Provide a more resilient water supply – This project will improve the resilience of the water network in Tramore.

Will customers be affected by the works?

In order to safely and efficiently complete the works a road closure at Cluain Dara and Esmonde Road is required until Friday 26 November. Local access to either side of the works location will be maintained as the project progresses. Diversions will be signposted on approach with local access and emergency traffic facilitated.

The works may involve some short-term water interruptions and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned water interruptions.

We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.
