Leixlip Saggart Water Main Project
Irish Water is investing over €35 million in the Leixlip Saggart Water Main Project. This project will increase connectivity of the Dublin Regional Water Supply.
The purpose of the Leixlip to Saggart Water Main Pipeline Project is to connect two of the main Water Treatment Plants (WTP) in the Dublin Region Water Supply Area. Irish Water has signed a construction contract with Ward & Burke Construction Limited to deliver this project.
What are the benefits of this project?
- This project will improve the resilience of the water network supply in Dublin
- Increase connectivity of the Dublin Regional Water Supply
- Enable further residential and commercial developments in the surrounding Dublin area.
What is involved as part of this project?

The 6.8km water main will transfer water from Leixlip (via Peamount) to Saggart
