This €4.5 million project will involve a significant upgrade to the water treatment plant in Kenmare, benefiting over 2,200 people. These works will ensure customers in Kenmare and the surrounding areas receive a secure and reliable supply of high quality drinking water.

The current treatment plant at Kenmare does not provide adequate treatment for cryptosporidium or Trihalomethanes (THMs). This project will involve the upgrade of the existing water treatment plant in Kenmare to include a flocculation, coagulation and filtration process.
