Oughterard Wastewater Treatment Plant
This investment of €4.2 million will deliver improvements to the wastewater infrastructure of County Galway
This project will involve the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant on a green field site adjacent to the existing treatment facility. The existing wastewater treatment plant was originally constructed in the early 1970’s and currently caters for a population equivalent (PE) of 500. This project will increase the current treatment capacity of the plant and will facilitate future growth in population and economic development in the area. Upon completion, the upgraded plant will cater for a population equivalent (PE) of 2,400.
