Steps

  • Works will involve the decommissioning and replacement of 2.6 kilometres of old and damaged cast iron water mains
  • Existing pipes will be replaced with new modern high density polyethylene (plastic) pipes
  • Works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the street to customers’ property boundaries and connecting it to the customers’ water supply
  • Where there is lead on the public side of the service connection this will be removed
  • Works commencing in summer 2018 will move from location to location and in total across all areas are expected to take approximately 4 weeks to complete
