Blessington Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Irish Water is progressing plans to upgrade the wastewater infrastructure in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
Irish Water, working in partnership with Wicklow County Council, is progressing plans to upgrade the Blessington Wastewater Treatment Plant. The current wastewater treatment plant is currently overloaded. An upgrade is required to ensure there is increased capacity available for future social and economic growth in the area and to ensure compliance with national and EU legislation.
- Increase the capacity of the current sewer network and allow for population growth.
- Support social and economic development of Rosses Point and the surrounding area.
- Ensure that wastewater will be treated in accordance with EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directives and Environmental Protection Agency wastewater discharge licensing.
What is involved as part of this project?
