03 April 2023

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann, and Kerry County Council wishes to advise that water network improvement works in Ash Hill, Tralee, Co. Kerry, may cause disruption to supply for homes and businesses in surrounding areas from 7pm Wednesday, 5 April to 1am the following morning (Thursday, 6 April).

Areas impacted include: Ash Hill, Dooninlaghbeg, Coolnadead, Arabela, Ballydwyer West, Ballydwyer East, Maglass West, Maglass East, Coolgarriv, Crag, Knockeen, Ballyegan, Rockfield, Clogherclemin, Ballynahinch, Tonreigh Lower, Parkearagh, Rathany, Shanaknock, Tullygarran, Ballinorig West, Killeens, Clashatlea and surrounding areas.

During these essential works, homes and businesses in the above areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following the completion of improvement works; water supply may take two to three hours to return as water refills the network. Work crews will endeavour to complete works ahead of time in order to expedite the return of supply to the affected areas.

To complete the works in a safe and efficient manner, a road closure is required along the L2022 road from Moriarty’s Cross, Ballyfinane North to Ash Hill (Via Lisnataggle and Mount Nicholas). The road closure will be in place from 7pm Wednesday, 5 April until 7am the following morning (Thursday, 6 April).

Uisce Éireann understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.

Customers can call the Uisce Éireann customer helpline on 1800 278 278 for any questions in relation to the works.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme. Since 2018, Uisce Éireann has invested over €500 million to upgrade the underground water network across the country. We are investing a further €250 million every year up to the end of 2030 - fixing leaks and replacing pipes to provide a more reliable water supply.
