Works underway to restore water supply in Malahide and Portmarnock

20 April 2021

Uisce Éireann is working with Fingal County Council to carry out urgent repairs to restore water supply in parts of Malahide and Portmarnock. Crews are working to repair two bursts on the watermains as quickly and as safely as possible in line with COVID-19 protocols.

Customers in the following areas of Malahide may be impacted by disruption to their supply while the repairs are underway; Millview Close; Millview Court; Millview Lawn; Millview Road; Talbot Court and surrounding area.

Customers on the R124, Old Portmarnock from the junction of Station Road to the Moyne Road junction and surrounding areas may be impacted by disruption to their supply while repairs are ongoing.

Speaking about the repair works, Tselo Tlou, Uisce Éireann said, “Uisce Éireann understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the bursts and restore normal supply to impacted customers as quickly and as safely as possible.

Both watermains repairs are expected to be completed by 4pm. Once the repairs are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 1-2 hours to return as water refills the network.

Uisce Éireann is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Uisce Éireann would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
