Works on-going to restore water supply to Athenry, Clarenbridge and Kilcolgan following pipe burst

The burst pipe at Raheen is due to be repaired by six this evening with supply in Athenry returning in the next couple of hours. All other areas including Clarenbridge and Kilcolgan should have supply restored by 10pm.

Irish Water, working in partnership with Galway County Council are working to restore the water supply in Athenry, Clarenbridge and Kilcolgan following a major burst to a pipe in Raheen.
As a result of the burst Athenry Reservoir is severely depleted and water supply to Athenry, Clarenbridge and Kilcolgan is off at present. Crews are on site working to restore supply to Athenry town and refill the reservoir but this will take several hours. Supply to Clarenbridge and Kilcolgan will be very limited all day until repair works are fully complete.
