Works to safeguard the water supply in Temple Bar may cause supply interruptions

Irish Water wish to advise customers in Temple Bar that watermain improvement works may cause disruption to the water supply on Friday 27 March from 8am-7pm. These necessary works will help to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Temple Bar.

It is important that people follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing. The works being undertaken are part of water network improvement works in the area and allow us to improve the overall security of water supply.

Affected areas

During these essential works the following areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages;

  • Fleet Street, Temple Bar to the junction with Fownes Street, Bedford Row;
  • Merchant’s Arch, Bedford Lane, Aston Place;
  • Aston Quay from junction with Bedford Lane to Merchant’s Arch;
  • Asdill’s Row Fownes Street Lower (east side), Cope Street, Crown Alley;
  • Anglessa Street, Parliament Row and surrounding areas

Following the completion of these improvement works water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network. Irish Water is working at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.
