Irish Water, in partnership with Louth County Council, are working to restore water supply to customers in Donore Industrial Estate and surrounding areas in Drogheda following a pipe burst. This is a separate pipe burst to the one that occurred yesterday.

Crews on site to repair burst

The areas affected include the Donore Industrial Estate, and surrounding areas. Customers in the Clogherhead, Termonfeckin and Ballymackenny Road areas may also experience disruption. Crews are on the ground working to repair the burst.

Expected that the repair will be completed by 9pm

It is expected that the repair will be completed by 9pm, when water will begin to be restored. Full water service may take some time to return as water refills the network.

Urging customers to conserve water during works

We are asking customers to conserve water while these repair works are underway. We are urging customers to conserve water by; not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. Irish Water, in partnership with Louth County Council, are working to restore water supply to customers in parts of Drogheda following a major pipe burst. The areas affected will include the Dublin Road, Bryanstown and Platin Road, and all adjacent estates and premises in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Repair expected to be completed by 11:30pm

Crews are on the ground working to repair the burst. However, due to the scale of the burst, it will take some time to complete repairs. It is expected that the repair will be completed by 11:30pm, when water will begin to be restored. Full water service may take some time to return as water refills the network.
