Update 7.15pm - major burst on the Curragha-Ratoath watermain has been repaired

Irish Water Working in partnership with Meath County Council are pleased to report that the watermain burst on the Curragha-Ratoath has been repaired. 

The burst had caused a water outage affecting large areas in Ratoath; Ashbourne Road; Fairyhouse Road; Kilbride Road; Dunshaughlin Road; Kilbride and surrounding areas.

We would like to thank the crews on the ground who worked quickly to resolve the issue and apologise to customers for the interruption to supply. Residential and business customers are advised that whilst the watermain is filling it may take 2-3 hours for full supply to return to normal.

Update 1pm: Outage due to major burst on the Curragha-Ratoath watermain

Irish Water and Meath County Council are working to restore the water supply in parts of Ratoath, Kilbride and surrounding areas following a major burst on the Curragha-Ratoath watermain. Homes and businesses in the area may be impacted by water outages while the repairs are carried out.

The areas impacted include; Ratoath; Ashbourne Road; Fairyhouse Road; Kilbride Road; Dunshaughlin Road; Kilbride and surrounding areas.

Crews are working to carry out the repair the burst as quickly as possible. The repair is expected to be completed later today. Once the watermain has been repaired it may take a number of hours for the water supply to return in full to all impacted properties.

A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of these urgent repair works. Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore supply to impacted customers.
