Work underway to restore water supply to customers in Listowel following a burst pipe
Good progress being made and it is expected that supply will be restored by lunchtime
Irish Water and Kerry County Council are working to restore water supply to customers in Listowel following a burst pipe.
Crews have been on site since first light this morning working to repair the burst in the Church Street area. The repair was complicated by the fact that there was more than one break in this section of water main.
Good progress is being made and it is expected that a normal water supply will be restored by lunchtime.
Clear discolouration by running cold kitchen tap
As the water supply returns, there may be some discolouration in the water but this can be cleared by running the cold kitchen tap. In the meantime we have been assisting local businesses by filling the water tanks on their premises.
Irish Water and Kerry County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this incident and thank customers in Listowel for their patience as we work to resolve it.
