Works taking place to repair burst Water Main in Athlone
A major burst occurred on a water main on the Ballymahon Road at 2:30am this morning Tuesday 7 November, which has resulted in a disruption to some customers supplied by the Athlone Public Water Supply Schemes. Currently there is a disruption to the water supply to customers in Annagh, Ballykeeran, Glasson, Mount Temple and Ories. However as the water level in Annagh reservoir drops customers on the east side of Athlone will experience a reduction in water pressure and widespread disruptions to their water supply.
Irish Water and Westmeath County Council apologise to its customers impacted by this burst and wish to reassure customers that both Irish Water and Westmeath County Council are currently working on isolating and fixing this burst as quickly as possible. The current estimated time for restoration of supply is 8:00 pm this evening. The latest updates on the burst are posted to our supply and service section. The Irish Water customer care helpline is open 24/7 and customers can call us on 1850 278 278 and quote this unique reference number WME015467 for updates.
