Work continues to restore supply in Kiltimagh and surrounding areas
Normal water supply now restored in Westport
Irish Water is working with Mayo County Council to restore a normal water supply to customers in the Kiltimagh area who have experienced disruptions due to Storm Eleanor.
A temporary power supply was put in place to run the Kiltimagh Water Treatment Plant and this is continuing to fill the reservoir supplying the area. It is expected that water supply will be restored to a number of areas including Galboy, Bohola Road, Kilkelly Road and Balla Road over the coming hours.
In order to replenish the reservoir, we are asking customers to conserve their water as much as possible until a normal water supply can be restored.
Disruption to the Water Supply in the Treenkeel/Treanlaur and the Carrick areas will continue throughout the day as network repairs are required in these areas. We hope to have full service restored by this evening.
Alternative water supply at SuperValu in Kiltimagh
An alternative water supply remains in place at SuperValu in Kiltimagh town which will continue throughout the day. If you are using this supply, please use your own container when taking water from the tankers and boil the water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
We thank you for your patience while we work to restore your water supply. We also thank the ESB employees and Mayo County Council employees for their assistance in bringing the water treatment plant back into production and for the ongoing provision of a water tanker.
A normal water supply has now been restored to customers in Westport town who were experiencing disruptions or low pressure during the past 24 hours.
