Williamstown Boil Water Notice lifted
The Boil Water Notice for the area supplied by the Williamstown Public Water Supply has been lifted with immediate effect
Following advice from the Health Service Executive, Irish Water and Galway County Council have lifted the Boil Water Notice for the area supplied by the Williamstown Public Water Supply with immediate effect.
The Boil Water Notice was put in place as a precautionary measure to protect the 986 people served by the supply. It was necessary because extremely heavy rainfall in the area caused the water treatment plant to come under pressure and the result was turbidity in the water and a lower than required level of UV protection.
Irish Water working with the HSE monitored the plant during the time that that Boil Water Notice was in place and we are pleased to announce that the Water Treatment Plant has returned to full compliance and the HSE have advised Irish Water that the Boil Water Notice can now be lifted.
Irish Water would like to apologise to all customers of this supply for the inconvenience caused by the imposition of the Boil Water Notice.
