Full capacity restored at Bennettsbridge Water Supply Scheme
Update 20 December
Irish Water working in partnership with Kilkenny County Council have successfully restored the water treatment plant to full capacity at Bennettsbridge and as a result, no further restrictions will be put in place.
Due to the excessive levels of rainfall overnight on Wednesday,18 December, the raw water quality deteriorated serving the treatment plant. Kilkenny County Council and Irish Water worked throughout the day to restore production to full capacity.

Overnight restriction for customers supplied by Bennettsbridge Water Supply Scheme
Irish Water working in partnership with Kilkenny County Council wish to advise customers that the water supply on the Bennettsbridge water supply scheme in Kilkenny will be shut off from 9pm tonight 19/12/2019 until 7am from tomorrow morning 20/12/2019.
Due to the excessive levels of rainfall overnight on Wednesday the 18th, the raw water quality deteriorated serving the water treatment plant. Kilkenny and Irish Water have been working throughout the day to restore production to its full capacity, however night time restrictions are necessary to ensure a supply is available for customers tomorrow during the core hours. Irish Water will provide further updates on the progress of works tomorrow Friday the 20th.
The main areas affected are those that are supplied by the Rathduff reservoir, which are, Bennettsbridge, Danesfort, Sevenhouses, Annamult, Kells, Dunnamaggin, Ennisnag, Dungarvan, Tullaherin, Rathduff and surrounding areas.
