Water supply in Drumcondra restored following repair of burst main
600mm diameter burst water main
Irish Water, working in partnership with Dublin City Council, has repaired a significant burst on a 600mm diameter water main in Drumcondra, and restored water supply in Dublin’s Northside. The areas affected included the North Inner City, Drumcondra, Artane, Fairview, Clontarf, Raheny, Whitehall, Santry and Cabra.
Crews on the ground from 7:30am-8:30pm yesterday
Crews were on the ground since 7.30am yesterday and repair works were completed at approximately 8.30pm last night. Full water service should be restored to all affected customers overnight, as water refilled the pipe network.
After a disruption to water supply, some properties may experience air locks. Information on how to deal with this can be found here. We would like to thank those affected for their patience and co-operation, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
