Water supply restored in Celbridge following the repair of a burst water main
Irish Water, working in partnership with Kildare County Council has repaired a significant burst to a water mains and restored the water supply to impacted homes and businesses in Celbridge, Co. Kildare.
The pipe burst occurred in Castletown, Celbridge. The areas affected included Abbey farm, Ballymakealy, Celbridge Abbey, Killadoon Park, Priory Lodge, Priory Walk, Priory Drive, Priory Court, Priory Crescent, Priory Square, Priory Close, Priory Way, Priory View, St Raphael’s Manor, Oakley Court, Grattan Court, Springfield Drive, Springfield Court, Springfield Gardens, parts of Oldtown Mill and surrounding areas.
The complex repair works are now complete and water will begin to be restored. Full water service may take some time to return as water refills the pipe network.
As water returns there is also a possibility that some customers may have airlocks in their internal plumbing. For advice on how to deal with airlocks please visit our Check and clear internal airlocks page.
Temporary water supplies
Temporary water stations will remain at the following locations until full service is restored: the Church of Ireland in Celbridge and the filling station on the Clane Road. Customers are reminded to continue to bring clean containers and to boil water taken from these stations before use, as a precaution.
Irish Water and Kildare County Council acknowledge the inconvenience caused to customers by this unplanned outage, and thank people in the areas affected for their understanding and patience while repairs were carried out.
