Water supply being restored in Athlone following completion of works
Irish Water and Westmeath County Council would like to apologise to customers impacted by this burst.
A burst water main on the Ballymahon Road in Athlone which occurred at 1am this morning and resulted in disruption to the water supply for customers in Killion Hill, Bunavalley, Ballymahon Road, Dublin Road, Ard na Glug, Cornamaddy, Cornamagh, Moydrum, Garrycastle, Fardrum and Blyry has now been fixed.
Normal water supply will return to customers over the course of this evening and tomorrow. Customers in high lying areas may still experience low pressure issues over the coming 48 hours until the levels in the Annagh Reservoir are fully restored. An alternative water supply will be provided to any customers who experience prolonged water supply issues.
Alternative water supplies will be provided at the following locations:
- Willow park
- Lower road retreat
- Dublin Road
- Birr Turn
- Altown
- Cypress Gardens
- Valleycourt
- Mountemple
- Baylin
- Clonbunny
