Customers across Kerry asked to use water wisely as supply is under pressure due to increased demand

All customers are being asked to use water wisely to avoid reservoirs emptying and water pressure to homes and businesses being affected.

Water restrictions will be in place from 8pm tonight to tomorrow (Monday) morning for customers supplied by the Brosna Public Water Supply to allow water levels in reservoirs to refill. Areas affected include Meenleitrim, Crag and Dooneen in Castleisland and Glencane, Ahane and Knockane in Brosna, along with areas around Headley's Bridge and the Brosna to Listowel road (the Cork Line).

While the supply will be restored from 8am tomorrow (Monday), some pumps will have to be reset and customers served by these, along with customers on higher ground, may not have their supply restored until later in the day.

Customers throughout the county are urged to conserve water

Customers throughout the county are urged to conserve water by not running taps unnecessarily, taking showers instead of baths and checking for leaks in their properties.Customers are also asked to check for any leaks on water troughs for animals and carry out repairs as soon as it is safe to do so.

Irish Water working in partnership with Kerry County Council would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience this is causing.

Updates will be posted to the Supply and Service section and via the 24/7 customer care line at 1850 278 278.
