Works may cause disruption to supply on Tuesday August 20 from 7pm-11.30pm

Irish Water is carrying out water main improvement works to ensure a more secure and reliable water supply in the Togher Road, Glasheen area of Cork. As part of these works there may be disruption to water supply from 7pm to 11.30pm on Tuesday 20 August 2019.

The areas affected will include McDonagh Road, Connolly Green, Killeenreendowney Avenue, Plunkett Road, Pearse Place, Fr. Dominic Road, Pouladuff Road, Charles Daly Road, Edward Walsh Road, Patrick Trahy Road, Boston Park, Ard Manning Avenue, Rose Lawn, Togher Road, Sycamore Place, Hazel Road, Elm Road, Cherry Tree Road, Clashduv Road, Whitebean Road, Bothar Mac Piarais, Glendalough Park, Fairy Ville Lawn, Fairy Lawn, Lough Road, Lough Park, Brookfield Lane, Brookfield Park, Leafdale, St. Joseph’s Park, Hillside Drive, Earlwood Estate, Glendale Drive, Glendale Grove, Hillside Road, Tara Court, Glasheen Road, Hartlands Avenue, School Avenue, Glasheen Park, Kilcrea Park, Lima Lawn, Vicars road, Lapp’s Court and surrounding areas.

Following works supply may take 2-3 hours to return

During these essential planned works, homes and businesses in the above areas area may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following these improvement works water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network. We understand this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause. Part of our national Leakage Reduction Programme

These works are being carried out as part of our national Leakage Reduction Programme which will, over the next 4 years, see €500 million invested to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains. This will ensure a safe, reliable water supply which is vital for our health, our environment and our growing population and economy.
