The boil water notice that was issued on the Ballyhaise Public Water Supply on Friday, October 14 remains in place.
The Ballyhaise Public Water Supply is served by the Annagh Group Water Scheme.
The boil water notice was put in place due to the detection of coliform bacteria in the Annagh Group Water Supply and is in place to protect the consumers on the group water supply and the Ballyhaise Public Water Supply.
The issue arose on the Annagh Group Water Supply following works to the scheme. A contractor was on site this week to carry out remedial works. Irish Water and Cavan County Council are continuing with their efforts to lift the boil water notice as soon as possible. A programme of flushing is being carried out across the network next week which will then be followed by a programme of monitoring and sampling. A further update will be given late next week. Annagh Group Water Scheme, Irish Water and Cavan County Council would like to reassure people supplied by the scheme that the resumption of normal service is a priority.
Irish Water appreciates the inconvenience caused as a result of the Boil Water Notice and wishes to apologise to all customers affected. We remind people to follow the advice of the Boil Water Notice. We will continue to keep local residents and elected representatives updated on our efforts to lift of the boil water notice.
