Update for Customers in Athlone as the Annagh Reservoir Refill following essential Maintenance
Essential reservoir works is causing supply disruptions to Garrycastle, Dublin Road, Ardnaglug, Fardrum, Moydrum, Blyry, Killyon Hill, Bonavalley, Athlone and surrounding areas in Co. Westmeath.
The water level in the Annagh reservoir is continuing to refill slowly following these works. As the reservoir refills pressure will increase throughout the network. Water will start leaving the reservoir and entering the network from 8pm tonight but it could take up to 10pm for water to start returning to impacted customers. Irish Water and Westmeath County Council have organised for temporary water stations to remain in place until a normal water supply is restored to these customers.
Stationary Water tankers are located at:
- Entrance to IDA
- Dublin Road
- Grace road
- Lower road retreat
- Altown
- Cypress Gardens
- Valleycourt
- Entrance to Athlone IT
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
Irish Water and Westmeath County Council apologise to customers affected by this unplanned outage. The supply and service section will continue to be updated on the location of the stationary water tankers.
