Thanking the people of Letterkenny for their patience as upgrade works take place
Meeting to review traffic management plans for water and sewer upgrade works
Irish Water is today (Monday) meeting with the Letterkenny elected officials and Chamber of Commerce to review traffic management plans for water and sewer upgrade works that are taking place in the town and surroundings. These projects are essential to reduce sewer flooding in the town and to ensure a more consistent and secure supply of water to residents and businesses and are part of our commitment to safeguard water and wastewater services for the people of Letterkenny. Traffic management plans are currently in place with support from Donegal County Council Road’s Department and An Garda Siochána helping to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
Works along Pearse Road commenced on Monday, May 13
Works to upgrade the sewer network along Pearse Road commenced on Monday, May 13. We have been working closely with the Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce in order to mitigate the impacts of traffic management on Pearse Road and the surrounding areas. The works on Pearse Road will be in place until the end of October but will be completely removed to facilitate the Donegal International Rally.
We are mindful of the disruption that these necessary works are causing for businesses and residents and we are thankful for their ongoing cooperation while these vital services are being upgraded.
Works represent investment in Letterkenny Regional Water Supply Scheme
The works represent a €44 million investment in the Letterkenny Regional Water Supply Scheme and €5.6 million investment in the Letterkenny Sewerage Scheme. This investment will support economic and social development and population growth into the future.
