Sixmilebridge pipe burst | Update 10am
Crews on site to repair complex break
A burst pipe in the Sixmilebridge area is continuing to cause supply disruption for approximately 600-700 people in Sixmilebridge, Annagore Bridge, Soreeney, and surrounding areas.
Another burst occurred overnight in the Kilmurry area following the completion of repairs yesterday on a section of watermain serving this area from the Castlelake supply.
Crews are on site now to investigate and repair this latest break. At this point, it is expected that the water supply will remain off for most of the day as these complex repairs are carried out.
Alternative water supplies being arranged
Alternative water supplies are being arranged for the area and details of their location will be notified shortly to local media and posted on the Service and Supply Section of the Irish Water website at www.water.ie.
Irish Water and Clare County Council apologise for the disruption caused by this unplanned outage. We are working as a matter of priority to repair it in the immediate term and will also seek to find a longer-term solution to recurring problems with this section of watermain.
