Restrictions on Tully and Letterfrack water supplies have been lifted
Water stores on both schemes have been replenished following heavy rain
Irish Water would like to advise consumers on the Tully and Letterfrack water supplies in Co. Galway that water conservation and restriction notices that were issued in May have been lifted.
Due to the unseasonably dry weather leading up to the month of May, which resulted in historically low water levels, Irish Water had no option but to impose water restrictions on the Tully and Letterfrack schemes nightly as well as asking consumers to conserve water to ensure a consistent supply.
Following persistent heavy rain, water stores on both schemes have been replenished sufficiently for the notices to be lifted.
Irish Water and Galway County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank the public for their co-operation.
With demand on water supplies expected to increase significantly over the summer months, Irish Water and Galway County Council are asking people supplied by these public water schemes to continue to report any leaks they see on the public network by calling our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278.
