Public information evening in Skerries about upcoming works to safeguard the water supply on Monday 30 September
Information evening on Monday 30 September from 6pm to 8pm
Irish Water will hold an information evening on Monday 30 September from 6pm to 8pm in Skerries Community Centre to present plans for upcoming works that will safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Skerries.
Working in partnership with Fingal County Council, we are replacing old, problematic water mains which will benefit homes and businesses in the Skerries area. These works are scheduled to commence in October and once completed this project will provide a safer more secure water supply for residents.
Traffic management will be in place throughout the works
We have planned the works in short sections in order to limit disruption and traffic management will be in place throughout the works. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. The works will be carried out on behalf of Irish Water by GMC Limited.
Speaking about the project, Matt Thompson, Irish Water’s Leakage Reduction Programme Regional Lead, said“The construction of new water mains in Skerries is vital to ensure a safer and a more secure water supply to homes and businesses in the area and will also support the economic and social development of the area. Upgrading the water infrastructure will ensure that customers in Skerries will have a more reliable and secure supply which will result in fewer disruptions to their water supply. Irish Water understands this type of work can be inconvenient and we will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.”
Residents in these areas will be notified in advance of any works.
All interested stakeholders are invited to attend the information evening.
