Precautionary Bathing Water Notices placed at Dollymount, Sandymount and Merrion Beaches following wastewater overflow at North Wall
Notice follows a power outage at the Spencer Dock Pumping Station
Irish Water, working with Dublin City Council and following advice from the HSE, has placed Precautionary Bathing Water Notices Dollymount, Sandymount and Merrion Beaches following a power outage at the Spencer Dock Pumping Station.
The power outage resulted in wastewater building up and overflowing at the East Road surface water Pumping Station, which was fully operational at the time. The Spencer Dock Pumping Station is now fully operational again but as a precaution the potentially affected beaches at Dollymount Sandymount and Merrion have had advisory bathing water notices placed on them by Dublin City Council.
Water sampling results expected this Friday
These will remain in place while we await water sampling results that will be available this Friday. It is hoped at this point that the notices can be lifted.
We regret any impact on the public users of these beaches.
