Parts of Cavan town will experience water outages following a burst water main
Alternative water supply will be provided at the apartment complex on Farnham Road
Irish Water and Cavan County Council wish to advise customers in parts of Cavan town that their water supply has been impacted as a result of a burst water main on Farnham Road.
Properties from McCarrons factory to the hospital on the left hand side of the road as you exit the town will be impacted by water outages until the repairs are completed. The hospital will not be impacted by this water outage.
An alternative water supply will be provided at the apartment complex on Farnham Road tomorrow, Tuesday 28 April from 9am. Customers are advised that as a precautionary measure water from the alternative supply should be boiled before use. Customers are also asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines when taking water from the alternative supply.
It is expected that the repairs will be completed tomorrow evening. Once the repairs are successfully completed, normal water supply will begin to be restored. Full water supply may take 1-2 hours to return as water refills the network.
Irish Water is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services.
