Outages due to watermain connections work as part of Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme upgrade
Irish Water and Galway County Council working in partnership with ShareRidge Ltd wish to advise customers in Craughwell and Loughrea that their water supply will be impacted as a result of essential watermain connection works taking place on Tuesday September 15 and Wednesday September 16 2020.
These works are part of the Tuam Regional Water Supply Scheme upgrade which represents an investment of €13.8 million by Irish Water and is due for completion in 2021.
A water outage is scheduled in Craughwell on both Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 4pm to facilitate watermain connection works at the Seefin Water Treatment Plant.
An outage is scheduled for customers on Barrack Street, Fahy Gardens and customers of the scheme in East Loughrea to Seefin from midnight Tuesday to 6am Wednesday. This is to facilitate watermain connection works at the Knockanima Water Treatment Plant.
Some customers may not receive a full water supply for a further two to three hours after the water is switched back on while water returns to the network.
Irish Water understands the inconvenience when an outage occurs and thanks customers in advance for their patience while these essential connections are made. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit our water supply and services section.
Irish Water continues to work at this time with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
