Improvements to the Rathangan Pumping station have been carried out by Irish Water following a €50,000 investment.

Work carried out included measures to improve the security and safety at the pumping station and landscaping to improve the aesthetics of the site.

Aspects of the pumping station needed updating and the improvements enhance the appearance of the site.

Commenting on the project Ivan Corcoran, Programmes Specialist at Irish Water, said “We are pleased to carry out work to upgrade the Rathangan Pumping Station. The pumping station was landscaped and upgraded to carry out essential safety improvements and to help showcase Rathangan in the best possible way. Irish Water is a proud supporter of Tidy Towns and sponsors the Value Water Awards. Upgrading our assets in towns is one way in which we help to support the awards. During the project we also upgraded the security at the pumping station to ensure it is meets with all Irish Water health and safety guidelines.”

The project involved decommissioning of a number of elements at the pumping station, resurfacing of the site and access road, covering of a number of items of exposed plant, securing the main gate to the pumping station and landscaping works to screen and improve the site aesthetics. This work is now complete.
