Uisce Éireann celebrates the 'Infinite Possibilities' of science for Science Week 2022

14 November 2022

To celebrate Science Week which is taking place all this week, Uisce Éireann is running a number of events nationwide to explore the infinite possibilities of science in our everyday lives, inspiring new opportunities and providing potential solutions to challenges such as climate change and the energy crisis.

Science Week 2022 is focused on the theme of Infinite Possibilities and how society has shown resilience, adaptability, and the ability to withstand adversity.

Ensuring that our water and wastewater services are delivered in a sustainable manner is a top priority for Uisce Éireann and we are already implementing energy efficient design for all projects, as well as efficiency measures in the operation of our treatment plants where possible.  Throughout Science Week, we will be highlighting many of these projects as well as introducing some of the Uisce Éireann scientists who use science everyday as part of their roles.

Nationwide events which are taking place during Science Week 2022 include profiles of Uisce Éireann scientists; presentations to schools and colleges; radio broadcasts; and visits to water and wastewater treatment sites around the country. A key focus of these events is to inspire the younger generations – and particularly young women - to consider the exciting opportunities offered by a career in science.
