1 October: Overnight restriction necessary to allow recovery of water levels
Irish Water and Westmeath County Council wish to advise customers on the Castlepollard Public Water Supply Scheme served by the Ballany Low Level Reservoir that an overnight water restriction is necessary tonight in order to allow water levels to recover in the reservoir following a mechanical failure.
In order to allow for the continued recovery of the water supply, a water restriction will be in place from 10pm tonight, Tuesday 1st October, until 6am tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 2nd October, which will impact customers in Delvin, Coole, Castlepollard, Raharney, and surrounds in Co. Westmeath.
This necessary night-time restriction is being put in place to ensure customers have a water supply to their homes and businesses during the daytime. This action is being taken to ensure that there is an adequate quantity of water available to supply industries, schools, residences and commercial activities during business hours.
Restoration time
The water supply will restore to customers as the network refills. It can take a number of hours for the water to restore to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network once the water supply is turned back on. We expect that supply will return to customers between 6 am and 8am as the water returns to the network.
