Alternative water supplies have now been removed

Irish Water, working in partnership with Leitrim County Council, would like to advise customers supplied by the Carrick on Shannon Water Treatment Plant that the plant is now fully operational following a failure at the plant over the weekend.

All customers should be receiving a full supply of water and the alternative water supplies that were provided for customers have now been removed. If you are still experiencing water supply issues, you may have an airlock. Find out how to Check for and Clear Airlocks.

The plant returned to full production on Monday afternoon and reservoir levels have replenished. Irish Water would like to thank customers for adhering to our appeal to conserve water while the reservoirs were recharging.

Customers asked to continue to conserve water

Customers are asked to continue to conserve water while this warm weather continues by turning off taps in properties and farm buildings and avoiding the use of hoses to wash cars or water lawns. More water conservation tips can be found on our Conserve Water page.

Irish Water and Leitrim County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience as a result of this issue and thank customers for their co-operation in conserving water at this critical time. We would also like to thank the local authority staff for their efforts in restoring the Carrick on Shannon Water Treatment Plant to production.
