Essential works at Kilmurray Water Treatment Plant

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Meath County Council to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Ballivor and surrounding areas. Essential works are taking place today, Monday 17 May, at Kilmurray water treatment plant. These essential works are being delivered in adherence with current HSE and government COVID-19 advice.

In order to deliver these critical works safely, a plant shut down is required until 3:00pm today. Works were originally scheduled to finish at 1:00pm.

During this time customers in the following locations may experience lower than normal water pressure and in some instances intermittent water outages; Ballivor, Portlester, Portanab, Pubblestown, Cloneygrange, Glebe, Shanco, Moyfeagher, Kilmurray, Cloncarneel, Corballis, Monktown, Carranstown, Glack, Crossanstown, Killaconnigan, Parkstown, Kilballivor and the following housing estates; Woodfield, Hazelwood, Earlsmeadow, Parkstown View, Stoneyford, Clós Na Croise, Amber Wood, Poynton Place, Cul Ronain Park and Woodgrove.

When works are complete it will take up to 3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.

Speaking about the works, Donal Heaney, Uisce Éireann said, “We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and working in partnership with Meath County Council we will make every effort to minimise any disruption that these necessary works may cause. The delivery of this work is an essential to safeguard the water supply to homes and businesses in Ballivor and the surrounding areas ensuring a safer more sustainable water supply into the future.”

Uisce Éireann continues to work at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.

The latest updates on these works will be available on the Supply and Service Updates section of our website. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 and customers can call us on 1800 278 278. Customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
