Essential works in Bushypark to safeguard the water supply

05 July 2022

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Galway County Council to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Bushypark, Co Galway.

Essential repair works are scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 6 July from 10am until 4pm. During the repair works, customers along the N59 from the Glenlo Abbey towards Moycullen may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages. Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.

Speaking about the works, Rónan Daly, Uisce Éireann said, “Uisce Éireann understands that this type of work can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with Galway County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause."

Rónan added: “Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the Supply Issues Following an Outage section of the website.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Traffic management will be in place however local access will be maintained at all times.
