Drinking Water from Vartry and Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plants
Dun Laoghaire drinking water supply
Dún Laoghaire is supplied with drinking water from the Vartry water treatment plant and Ballymore Eustace water treatment plant. Irish Water can confirm that drinking water microbiological and chemical analysis carried out on water produced at the water treatment plant is compliant with drinking water regulations. Water produced at the treatment plants is tested daily in conjunction with extensive monitoring in the distribution network and is safe to drink.
Irish Water’s drinking water compliance and operational teams work closely with colleagues in the HSE on matters relating to drinking water quality and we would like to reassure our customers that water quality testing is fully compliant, this includes testing carried out after enquiries were received.
The HSE have confirmed that they are following up separately on a number of public health queries and these queries are not related to the public water supply and further information can be sought from the HSE on press@hse.ie.
