Drilling for new borehole may lead to water supply disruptions for customers in Kilkerrin and Moylough
Providing a secure and safe drinking water supply for Kilkerrin and Moylough
Irish Water working in partnership with Galway County Council is committed to providing a secure and safe drinking water supply for customers in the Kilkerrin and Moylough areas.
Drilling of a new borehole will commence on Tuesday and Wednesday in an effort to secure a new robust supply of water for this scheme.
To facilitate the drilling, there will be water restrictions in place from lunchtime on Tuesday until Wednesday evening of this week. Water supply may be restricted in certain areas in an effort to maintain supply to as many customers as possible, however it is expected that most customers in Kilkerrin and parts of Moylough will experience supply disruptions during this time. Bottled water will be made available to schools and medical facilities.
Customers are urged to conserve water during this time to ensure a consistent supply can be maintained for as many people as possible.
Irish Water and Galway County Council would like to thank customers in advance for their patience while these necessary works take place and apologise for any inconvenience caused over the course of the two days. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. Updates will be provided on our Water Supply Updates section.
