Do Not Drink water restriction on the Ballyhaise Public Water Supply has been lifted with immediate effect
This drinking water restriction that was issued on July 26 has been lifted with immediate effect
Irish Water and Cavan County Council wishes to notify customers on the Ballyhaise public water supply in Co Cavan that following advice from the HSE the Do Not Drink notice that was issued on the supply on July 26 has been lifted with immediate effect. This scheme is supplied by the Annagh Group Water Scheme.
Restriction was put in place following water sampling results
The drinking water restriction was put in place to protect public health following water sampling results which showed a nitrite exceedance in the water supply. Monitoring and testing of the scheme since the notice was put in place has shown that the water supply is now fully compliant.
Customers should ensure they flush out their systems
As a final precautionary measure customers on the Ballyhaise Public Water Supply whose water systems have not been in use since July 26 2018 should ensure that they flush out their systems by running their hot and cold taps for a period of at least 30 minutes before resuming normal use of the water supply.
