Customers supplied by Oghill Reservoir advised of supply disruption on Friday, 26 August

25 August 2022

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.

Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Galway County Council, advises customers supplied by Oghill Water Reservoir of disruption to supply on Friday 26 August due to a planned ESB outage which will impact water treatment at Oghill Reservoir. This will result in some areas being out of water, including Mainistir to Oatquarter.

During the planned outage, supply of treated water will be temporarily stopped. Customers may experience temporary low water pressure and/or loss of supply from 11:00am until 5:00pm. When works are completed and following restoration of power, it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers as production is restarted and water refills the reservoir and network.

Rónan Daly, Uisce Éireann, said, “Uisce Éireann and Galway County Council understands the inconvenience caused when power outages occur and thanks customers for their patience. We will work to restore full supply as quickly as possible following the power outage.”
