Customers in Dundalk area may notice some discolouration in water due to emergency leak repair work but water supply is safe to drink
Discolouration expected to clear shortly
Irish Water customers in the Dundalk and Blackrock area of Co Louth may notice some discolouration of their water supply due to emergency leak repair work taking place in the area.
Step testing and flushing of the mains is being carried out as part of the process of finding and fixing the leak. As a result of this there may be some discolouration of the water. However, the supply is safe to drink.
It is expected that the discolouration will clear shortly but some adjacent areas may be affected over the coming days as these works continue.
Irish Water and Louth County Council apologies for any inconvenience as a result of this work. Further updates will be posted on the Water Supply Updates section and customers can also contact the 24/7 customer care helpline at 1850 278 278 should they have any queries or concerns.
