Customers in Ballina may experience water outages following a burst water main
Crews on site working to repair burst as quickly and as safely as possible
Irish Water and Mayo County Council wish to advise customers that a watermain has burst in Ballina affecting 300 houses on Bunree Road and in Greenhills Estate.
Crews are on site working to repair the burst as quickly and as safely as possible to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in the areas. It is expected that the repair will be completed by 8pm this evening (Wednesday) and it may take further 2-3 hours for normal supply to return to all impacted customers as the network refills.
Irish Water is working at this time, with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
Irish Water understands the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please see our Supply and Services section.
