Customers asked to be mindful of their water consumption today due to issues with supply, as a result of power outages.

A number of small pockets in Counties Kerry, Clare, Limerick, Waterford and Meath are experiencing issues with water supply. While Irish Water is confident that these issues will be resolved in the coming hours, it is important that water users conserve water.

Co. Limerick

Tankered water supplies have been made available to Croom Hospital which was affected by a water outage, power has now been restored and water supplies will return to normal over the next couple of hours.

Co. Kerry

A power outage has affected water supply in the Ballyheigue/Ardfert and Sneem areas. Power has now been returned and full water supply should return in the coming hours.
In Co. Clare a power outage is impacting water supplies in Kildysart and Mountshannon. Storage in the reservoirs means customers are not currently experiencing any issues and the ESB is working to restore power.

Co. Waterford

A number of small schemes including Ballysaggart, Carrignagower, Monamon, Montatarif and Kill are without power. The ESB is working to restore power.

Co. Meath

A power outage in the Enfield and Longwood areas is impacting water supply. The ESB is on site working to restore power.
 
The Irish Water call centre has dealt with approximately 50 calls to its call centre since the start of the storm.
 
Irish Water is continuing to track treatment plants across the country and to liaise closely with ESB Networks and our Local Authority partners.

Customers can conserve water by:

  • Choosing to have a shower rather than a bath
  • Have shorter showers
  • Turning off the tap while brushing teeth or shaving
