Burst watermain affecting the Belmullet area until 3pm today, Monday 20 April
Crews are working to repair the burst as quickly and as safely as possible
Irish Water is working in partnership with Mayo County Council to repair a burst watermain in the Belmullet area. The following areas will be without water supply today between the hours of 9am to 3pm; Clooneen, Gorthanaden, Glenlara, Barhauve, Tippe, Aughalasheen, Shanaghy, Dovila, Knockshambo, Knocknalina, Ballyglass and Broadhaven.
Crews are working to repair the burst as quickly and as safely as possible to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in the areas. It is expected that the repair will be completed by 3pm today (Monday) and it may take further 2-3 hours for normal supply to return to all impacted customers as the network refills.
Irish Water and Mayo County Council understand the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore normal supply to impacted customers. Irish Water and Mayo County Council regret any inconvenience caused and would like to remind customers to continue following HSE advice on handwashing.
Irish Water is working at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.
