Burst Water Main has occurred between the Staleen Water Treatment Plant and Windmill Hill Reservoir

A burst has occurred on a water main between the Staleen Water Treatment Plant and Windmill Hill Reservoir which may cause supply disruptions to some customers later this evening in Ratoath, Kilbride, Ashbourne and surrounding areas in Co. Meath. Irish Water and Meath County Council are working to repair the burst as soon as possible. A repair crew is on site and has isolated the burst to carry out the complex repair due to the depth and location of the water main.

Repair is estimated to be completed by 6pm this evening.

Once the repair is complete it will take a number of hours for a normal water supply to be restored to any impacted customers. The treated drinking water levels in the Windmill Hill Reservoir will supply customers throughout the day. Some customers may experience an interruption to their water supply or reduced pressure later this evening and tomorrow morning as the water in the network recharges. We will provide a further update later today on the repair progress.

A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works.

We understand the inconvenience when a burst occurs and thanks customers for their patience while we work to repair the burst and restore supply to any impacted customers.  Our customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. If you are contacting us about the burst please quote this unique alert MEA023673.
