Boil Water Notice Lifted with immediate effect on Aughrim Annacurra Public Water Supply
Mechanical failure has been resolved and the water supply is safe to drink
Following consultation with the HSE, Irish Water and Wicklow County Council confirm that the Boil Water Notice that was in place on the Aughrim Annacurra Public Water Supply has been lifted. The mechanical failure of the chlorine dosing pumps has been resolved and the water supply is safe to drink.
The Boil Water Notice was put in place as a precautionary measure, to protect approximately 1,600 people served by this supply following a mechanical failure of the chlorination system at the water treatment. The mechanical failure of the chlorine dosing pumps at the Aughrim Water Treatment Plant has been resolved.
Water supply now compliant with drinking water regulations
The water supply is compliant with drinking water regulations and normal use of the supply can resume for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
Irish Water apologises for the inconvenience caused by the imposition of the boil water notice. We thank customer for their patience while we worked with Wicklow County Council and the HSE to lift the notice as quickly as possible.
