Boil Water Notice issued for Ballinlough Regional Water Supply Scheme
A Boil Water Notice is being issued following the advice of the Health Service Executive, due to the detection of Cryptosporidium in the Ballinlough Regional Water Supply Scheme, Co. Roscommon.
In the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Regional Water Supply Scheme boil water before use.
Water must be boiled for:
- Drinking
- Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating
- Brushing of teeth
- Making of ice
Boil water by bringing to a vigorous, rolling boil (e.g. with an automatic kettle) and allow to cool. Cover and store in a refrigerator or cold place. Water from the hot tap is not safe to drink.
