Following advice from the Health Service Executive, Irish Water and Galway County Council, have issued a Boil Water Notice on the Kilkerrin-Moylough Water Supply Scheme and following Group Water Schemes: Lecarrow/Cooloo, Elmhill, Mullaghmore, Shankill and Fartown with immediate effect. The boil water notice has been implemented as persistent heavy rainfall over the past number of days has caused a deterioration in the raw water source. As a result the plant is currently unable to produce fully compliant water.
Irish Water and Galway County Council are working continuously to ensure that a safe and compliant supply of water is returned to the 1,532 consumers that are served by the supply as soon as possible. Irish Water and Galway County Council wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this announcement.

Great care should be taken with boiled water to avoid burns and scalds as accidents can easily happen, especially with children.
